A Small Visitor

Daisies in summer are fascinating and often overlooked. I always stop and check them out to see what might be paying them a visit.

This time a bright daisy was acting as the launch pad for a very interesting bug.

So stop and check out the daisies. You never know what you’ll see.

  1. That’s an assassin bug. They are voracious predators of many different insects killing them with a stab from their saber like mouth parts. Not as benign as the daisy may lead you to believe! Great shots!

  2. I don’t think it is as the assassin or kissing bug is not in Canada, yet. I am trying to get it identified at UBC eFauna site. I’ll get back to you as soon as I have an answer. But they are very slow responding.
